Two days ago our roaster started behaving differently. Hot air was penetrating the beans in a way it shouldn't, and several filter batches came out considerably darker than our spec. They failed QC as filter coffees.
That's usually where the story ends. Instead we blended them — Costa Rica, Kenya, Ethiopia — and dialled them in as espresso. It's expressive, and it stays balanced. Genuinely good, not good-for-a-salvage-lot.
So it's going out as No Waste blend: 30 bags of 1kg, wholesale only. When it's gone we can't make it again, because we can't reproduce how it happened.
